Saturday, November 24

Crafts and cakes will be among the stalls at the Felixstowe Country Market Craft and Gift Fair taking place at Old Felixstowe Community Centre, Ferry Road, from 9am to noon.

There will be a wide range of items to buy – a chance to get some Christmas shopping done – and refreshments, too. Entry is free.

Saturday, November 24

Felixstowe Library is hosting the Orwell Art Group’s Christmas Art Sale.

The day, which takes place at the library in Cresent Road from 10am to 4pm, is a chance to browse and buy with Christmas gifts in mind, and enjoy a wide range of art work in different styles and media. Admission free.

Saturday, November 24

Artist Geraldine Patey is holding her latest workshop day at Trimley Methodist Church Hall.

She will provide a theme, books and items to inspire or people can work on their own ideas supported and in the company of likeminded souls.

The workshops are suitable for beginners and advanced workers. People should bring their own art materials, but there will be an opportunity to buy or borrow on the day.

It takes place at the church hall on the corner of Mill Lane and High Road from 11am to 3.30pm.

Saturday, November 24

Half-close you eyes and you could be back in the swinging sixties seeing the greatest group of all-time live.

The Spa Pavilion is hosting The Upbeat Beatles at 7.30pm with the band playing songs from across the Fab Four’s career – from the earliest days at the Cavern Club in Liverpool to the Apple roof top, through Beatlemania, Sergeant Pepper to Abbey Road.

Sunday, November 25

Speedway, stock car and football memorabilia, plus stamps, postcards and much more will come under the hammer as Nick Barber Auctions holds a Sports Memorabilia and Paper Collectables Auction.

The event takes place at the Orwell Hotel, Hamilton Road, Felixstowe, and admission is free.

There is a collectors fayre and viewing of the auction lots from 9am and the auction itself starts at 12.30pm.

Today’s the day 7th Felixstowe Scouts launch their annual Christmas Post service, which will run until December 11.

Collecting boxes are positioned in Co-op Solar, Felixstowe Library, The Card Centre, Conkers Pets and Plants, Felixstowe Leisure Centre, The Little Fabric Shop, Morrison’s, The Bread Basket (Walton), Michael’s Butcher’s (Old Felixstowe), Goslings Farm Shop (Trimley St Martin), Roselea Nursery Farm Shop (Trimley St Martin) and the Flying Lady Wedding and Party Shop (Faulkeners Way, Trimley St Mary).

The cost is 25p per card to be delivered anywhere in Felixstowe, Walton, The Trimleys, Kirton and Falkenham by the scouts and scout leaders posties by Christmas Eve.

Tuesday, November 27

Bridget Keevil will be speaking about Oceangoing Yachting at the Felixstowe Society’s meeting at 7.30pm at the Salvation Army, Cobbold Road, Felixstowe.

Admission is £1 for members and £2 visitors – all welcome.

Wednesday, November 28

Members of the Felixstowe Group of Suffolk Wildlife Trust will be holding a Wednesday Bird Watching Walk at Brandon and Santon Downham.

It’s a chance to see some different birdlife and people should meet at Brandon Country Park – map reference TL 785 854 at 9am, The day runs until 3pm and the cost is £3. More details from Dave Langlois on 01394 210535.

Wednesday, November 28

Ballet lovers can enjoy their favourite theatre experience with a trip to the Spa Pavilion to see The Nutcracker.

Vienna Festival Ballet will be performing the traditional tale of the story of Clara and her enchanted nutcracker doll as they battle the Mouse King, and join the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier on a wonderful journey through a kingdom made of sweets, set to Tchaikovsky’s music. The show is at 7.30pm.
