Tiny trains on display – with plenty of power on the tracks

Enthusiasts of miniature model railways will be holding their final open day of the year on Saturday, October 27.
The Felixstowe Area ‘N’ Gauge Group specialises in small trains, creating modular layouts which can be joined together to make much larger ones.
They will be showing several layouts, and members will be on hand to talk about their hobby, and explain to people how to get started.
A club spokesman said: “We will have group members’ layouts running, including the Group Modular layout with a high level shuttle, Great Street Junction, plus Trimley Station and one or two others.
“It is hoped that we shall be opening our Club Room again where we will hopefully be running Broadlands for the first time. There will also be some ongoing projects on view. The Club Room is a very short stroll from the Welcome Hall.
“Overall this should be a good day out for any Model Railway enthusiasts and it is not too early to be looking for suitable Christmas presents.”
The event takes place at the Welcome Hall, High Road, Trimley St Mary, between 11am and 4pm.
Light refreshments will be available, and there will be trade and second-hand stalls.
Admission is free but visitors can make a donation to group funds to help cover the cost of the event.
There is free on street parking and the venue is fully wheelchair-friendly.
