Trimley villagers are set to to reveal some of their most closely-guarded secrets later this year.
Green-fingered locals in Trimley St Mary and Trimley St Martin will throw open their treasured gardens over a weekend in June – with funds raised going to two charities.
Styled ‘The Little Gardens of Trimley’ – because the majority of gardens in Trimley are exactly that - the open weekend takes place on Saturday June 15 and 16.
Organisers say the gardens on show are “small oases of that make their owners happy” with some “greenly tranquil, some riotously colourful, some full of vegetables, and some full of fish in ponds.”
Proceeds of the event will be split between Trimley Church and Basic Life Charity.
Sam Cowell, of St Martin’s Church, said the weekend “is an event by the community for the community.”
He said it is for people sharing their love of gardens and gardening, exchanging ideas and tips, seeing how plans are working out and realising the gardens don’t have to be perfectly finished!
“We’re appealing for people to open their gardens which can be any size, can be at any stage of development and don’t have to be perfect,” he said.
If people want to get involved please contact Sam on 01394 200462 or via firstname.lastname@example.org
If you have previously indicated you would be willing to open your garden but haven’t heard from Sam recently please do get in touch again.
There will be a programme with details of gardens and a map. Cost is £5 per person.
