Visitors and residents will be able to enjoy more than just Christmas shopping in Felixstowe for the next four days - with a chance to go skating, too.

Felixstowe Town Council is again organising the synthetic skating rink with sponsorship from the East of England Co-op.

The rink will be placed on the forecourt of the Great Eastern Square shopping centre and will open from Thursday, December 20 to Sunday, December 23 from 11am to 7pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 10am to 6pm on Sunday.

Mayor Graham Newman will officially open the rink at 11am on Thursday.

There will also be low-cost rides for smaller children and refreshments will also be available.

Residents and visitors will be able to skate for free and skates are provided, so people only need to turn up to have a go. Four days should give everyone ample time to skate but time on the rink may be limited if it is especially busy.
